Glossop's Victorian Age.
During the 2008 Victorian Weekend in Glossop the Heritage Centre decided to display a time line in the window. This showed a small sample of the events that took place in the town during Queen Victoria's reign, together with some national and international events.
Such was the interest in this display we decided to produce this publication with year by year events happening in Glossop illustrated with 58 images.
Glossop Dale Manor & Borough.
This is the classic handbook of Glossop history, originally published in 1973 but still just as relevant today and now available once again.
Times Past DVD.
This DVD combines rare archive film (including newly discovered tram footage), personal reminiscences and old photographs to bring to life Glossop's fascinating past. In almost an hour of material, not only are major events featured such as the Roman occupation of the area, the great cotton mill era and life in the second world war, but also every-day details. How did Glossopians cope, for example, in the days before toothpaste, alarm clocks, toilet rolls and bathrooms? Also featuring sport and the Glossop Old Band, this DVD combines a wealth of experiences to paint a picture of a vibrant town on the edge of the Peak District.

Glossop Heritage Trust has had an association with local artist John Bellis for several years. When the Heritage Centre was open John's work was displayed there and the Trust sold prints of John's work.
Following closure of the Centre we are now using the web site as a display medium. Please click Here for details.
