On Sunday 8th July 2018 the fourth Blue Plaque, created by Glossop Heritage Trust, was unveiled by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of High Peak, Councillor John Walton and Mrs Ginny Priestley.

Also in attendance were Councillors George and Jean Wharmby and Trust Directors.

The Plaque, which is situated on the front wall of the swimming baths, records the presentation of Woods Baths and Woods Hospital, on 30 July 1887, to the people of Glossop by local mill owners the Wood family. The land which formed Howard Park was donated by Lord Howard of Glossop. This generous gift to the town celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.

Afterwards, refreshments were served in the Park and there was a small exhibition. On the Tuesday evening following the Trust held a well attended history walk around Howard Park.
