There were memorials to those who lost their lives in World War One and Two in Zion chapel, Simmondley.
World War One 1914-1918
In 1919 a welcome home was arranged for the returning servicemen of the church. A memorial, which took the form of a plaque, was set up in memory of the five young men who lost their lives during the war.
